It's been such a busy summer for us here at AmaWaterways.
Presently, I'm on the Douro River; home to port wines and bucolic scenery. Before that, it was off to Vilshofen, Germany for a festive ship christening. We welcomed AmaSonata to the fleet, surrounded by friends, Bavarian food, music and fireworks. It was a fitting celebration for a ship that's already earning praise in the travel press!
The excitement of that day and the warmth of the crew made me eager to return to the ship. And this fall, I'll do just that. I'll be on board the AmaSonata's November 5 "Melodies of the Danube" sailing. We'll journey from Budapest to Vilshofen as fall foliage fills the landscape. Along the way, we'll see castles from the Crusades; wander through magnificent abbeys, and drive along Imperial boulevards.
The adventurous can bicycle along miles of riverside paths. Or curl up in a comfortable chair with a glass of wine, and watch the view glide by. "Melodies of the Danube" takes in Europe at it's most historic crossroads. But AmaSonata will be the true star of this cruise. She's a beautiful ship in design, ambiance and spirit. Some say she's our best ship to date. But you can be the judge of that. I do know one thing. With a name like AmaSonata, she brings back the musical tradition in our ship names. What better showcase for her than a "Melodies of the Danube" cruise during her inaugural season?
I hope to see you on board.
